| I finally installed (ed)ubuntu on my pc.. wee!!
it actually took me 8 attempts, with the 8th being the successful one.
why the hell did it took me 8 tries..? it's like this.. at some part of the installation, the installer wizard will prompt a "Migration Assistant" thingie.. that's a pain, and it took me a while to notice too ---- that in all seven attempts, i skipped (or did not use..) the "migration assistant" thingie. 'cuz i really don't know what that is for. And since the pc is newly formatted, i don't see any reason to use that..
i don't know where ubuntu got that idea of "Hanging at 15% if you don't use the Migration Assistant thingie". Actually I can see why it's useful, that is if you have another OS installed on the pc. Oh well, at least I have a linux now!! hooray for penguins! xD
ok.. first off, here's my list of what to do in my linux system:
1) Write damn shell script.. Automation scripts and all other scripts i made up in the school.. (thru copy-paste procedure.. xD)
2) Now that i have a c and perl compiler, i can now study the two language. sweet!
3) I wish there's a winamp-like music player in linux.. or.. maybe i can export winamp instead.. i dunno how to, though.
4) administer total control over the linux environment dad also use linux, so we're both administrators.. >_>
5) I downloaded a couple of source codes prior to installing linux.. and lookie.. it's my fave game>>Wormux<< xD i'll tweak that soon.. i heard it's still unstable, i'll work it around, hopefully..
and other errands i need to do (but actually don't know why i'm doing these..) :
1. scan some 200+ papers
2. promote emo-nerd fusion songs.. (aww.. damn.. if only i have a band.. I have a ton loads of songs here, complete with instrumentals..)
3. a date? no thanks.. you watching Evan Almighty? COUNT ME IN!!
4. make letterings for my new avatar, dark sheep.. BAA!!
5. write additional lines to my script file.. I'd be using this script to run an iGoogle-like webpage at my desktop(in windows)..
6. learn bowling.. unfortunately, our final exam is based on the score we will have on the game.. >_>
books i need:
1. Harry Potter series.. ALL!!
2. a big book of administrative rights, security techniques, and hacking techniques in linux.. There's a lot in our library, but it's a drag bringing it home and studying it.. it's a lot more drag studying there because.. you know.. noisy people..
3. I saw a book involving MS Windows file system.. hacking windows <something>, i think..
I wanna learn:
1. more about databases.. haha! never thought i'd say this, but i'm starting to get interested in database administration.
2. Virtualization.. I've read the overview and i see a great potential in this system.(not like a system, but it's like an abstraction layer provided in a system, or i dunno.. i'm no pro..)
3. the last thing in my mind is web designing.. what i'm after, though, is the javascripting..
wow.. i'm getting taunted in getting xanga premium.. xD unfortunately, i don't have enough budget yet.. maybe when i'm in internship..

learning progress isn't really going well, except in Visual Basic (which suck since i'm developing a dependence on the software..)..

ugh.. i nearly forgot that it's my birthday.. actually, that's my aim.. some annoying people made me remember, though..

so much for that.. i'll go back to reality and murmur to myself about a hypothetical problem that has bugged me for years.. oh.. i really need coffee.. caffeine is the newest addiction!! XD

| okay.. i know it's quite impossible for me to have at least one of these, but heck! I'll post this 'cuz i wanna..
1. I really wish I have a laptop.. but seeing that we are financially incapable of purchasing one and me being a very great stuff slammer and horrible portable device handler at the same time, i don't think so
2. I have a choice between an mp3 player and an iPod. Actually, I prefer an mp3 player more since i can play with it's system more. but really, simplicity is better. I just need something to hear Maaki's voice.
3. novels.. If i have to sum up some of it, i think it would reach P26000 or $1300.. again, too pricey..
4. so i have to settle to at least a good enough internet connection.. I'm still struggling at this crappy 6 kbps download... I just wish that at least this one would come true..
5. a new hard disk.. particularly a raptor with 100000 rpm and i think it has 120gb capacity.. then again, it won't come true since there's no stock of that in our country.. and beggars can be picky..
6. a very cute girlfriend.. particularly a japanese, or chinese.. as long as she's cute.. xD
~uhh.. wait.. i can't have one yet.. *crosses out girlfriend* having a girlfriend is a lot of drag.. i can't handle it yet..
7. if given the chance, i'd risk everything just to be an apprentice of a great hacker(black hat, grey hat, white hat.. i don't care.. as long as i learn) xD
8. nerd glasses.. uhh.. i can buy that next week.. YEY!!
9. i wish i have one of those durable, plastic shoes.. it's not available here though.. T.T
10. a wireless mouse, wireless keyboard, a wireless joystick and a cure for my sleepiness.. so i can mod all the game i want.. xD
i have a last wish, but i don't think such place is possible..
somewhere i can see the sun set beautifully, with a moderate breeze brushing through my cheeks.. i don't mind if there's someone with me.. i just mind the view.. i've only seen it in my dreams..

i wish MCR would have a concert at our country, or at least include our country in an asian tour..
